The Bike Break Electric Trike is a human-powered transport that is energetically autonomous, requiring no electric or hydraulic cables. Its technology makes it a zero-impact and easy-to-use vehicle. Designed for pedestrian zones and parks, its introduction does not undermine environmental interests. Beyond its technical features, it boasts an attractive and modern design that encourages people to have a drink or coffee.
The design of the Bike Break Electric Trike was inspired by the need for sustainable transport in eco-cities. The bicycle has always been a vehicle for work use throughout history, and this concept is meant to respond to that tradition. The mobile kiosk combines necessity, tradition, and innovation to connect urban cycling with work.
Chiara Minì's design is unique due to its eco-friendly features and use of recycled materials. The structure is made from recycled aluminum, the interior from recycled cardboard, and the body of the vehicle from bio-composite. The Bike Break Electric Trike also features an electric bike, regenerative braking, a flexible photovoltaic panel, a hubless wheel, and a carbon drive belt.
The design process, which began in July 2013 in Palermo, faced several challenges. The main challenge was to create a human-powered transport that could meet the sustainable transport requirements of eco-cities. However, with the Bike Break Electric Trike, Chiara Minì successfully turned the bicycle into not just a vehicle but a real lifestyle for those who have adapted their routine to a different approach to the city and the environment.
In conclusion, Chiara Minì's Bike Break Electric Trike is a testament to the power of sustainable design and innovation. It is a moving kiosk that is not only environmentally friendly but also functional and aesthetically pleasing. This design is a shining example of how design can be used to promote a sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle.
